Biden's first challenger is a self-help author and spiritualist who introduced a quirky approach to the 2020 presidential race

Marianne Williamson is a best-selling author of self-help and has announced that she will run for the White House once again. She will be the first major Democrat in the race to challenge Joe Biden for the nomination in 2024.

Williamson, 70 years old, pulled out from the 2020 presidential election after failing to gain enough support among primary voters. After a critical win in South Carolina, Williamson endorsed Bernie Sanders as her Democratic nominee. He ended up finishing second to Biden.

She has indicated that she will soon travel to New Hampshire and South Carolina, which are key early voting states. She will also visit the scene of the toxic chemical train accident in East Palestine.

Williamson will officially kick off her campaign on Saturday with an event in Washington DC. She did not mention Donald Trump's 2016 win at the White House, but she wrote that it was "unbelievable for anyone to believe they can predict who will win the presidency."

Williamson stated, "I'm not putting myself through this again just so that I can add to the discussion." "I am running for president to close an aberrational chapter in our history and to bring about a new beginning."

Williamson would be against the sitting president of her party, which would be the longest shot in any circumstance.

This is especially true in this cycle as the Democratic establishment, and potential presidential candidates who could have competed against Biden from either the left or the middle, has closed ranks with astonishing uniformity behind President Obama.

Williamson stated that he felt his 40-years of being close to the trauma of many thousands of people gave him a unique perspective on how America can be repaired. A politics that addresses causes and not symptoms is needed. It is not based on the crass imperatives for endless corporate profit but on the eternal imperatives underlying our principles and values."

She serves as Oprah Winfrey's spiritual advisor.

Her signature proposal was to establish a US Department of Peace. As atonement for centuries and decades of discrimination and slavery, she also advocated that the federal government make huge financial payments to Black Americans.
